Sense & Sensibilities

Winter has been a let-down so far. Sure, we had snow for a couple days and I’m really greatful for that! We got to play in it and make snow angels with Bob and Bethany. Walking downtown in it is always a blast, just feeling like you’re the only ones in a white world. So that was about the only eventful part of our winter, so far. It hasn't been super cold, only dropping into the teens once or twice.

We only just took our tree down about two weeks ago, and I admit I was really sad to see it go. To see the entire Christmas cheer leave the house in a whoosh. I feel that, if the tree hadn’t looked about to start on fire at the very mention of a spark, i could’ve kept it all up till the end of winter. But at least now we have nearly a full year to look forward to Christmas again, instead of waiting a short 9 months. harhar.

Six more months and then we are finally out on our own! After two years of experiencing home and hearth with 3 different roommates we will finally venture out into our own little nest. I’ll be sad to say goodbye to Officers Row, since it has treated me so kindly the last 2 years. But we get bored every 2 years anyhow, so I’m good with it. Our plan is Portland, SE [NW would be ideal, though most likely unreachable]. But if not Portland, then hopefully a place here in Vancouver that feels as safe as our current home feels. Though if I feel a little unsafe, that means I can get a Doberman so either way is good with me!

I am extremely excited to see where God is taking us, and what His plans are. Who knows! We could end up filling our Aveo to the brim and moving to a new state entirely. I’m fine with any of that. As long as it’s God’s plan and not ours. Because really, a warmer, less rainy climate sounds pretty great to me. But you really cannot beat Portland in the foodie/pub/beauty area. Not to mention the abundance of things to do. Opportunities keep popping up, so we’ll be on pins and needles till July when we’re lease -free and able to go, go, go!
